November Temp of the Month
We appreciate and acknowledge outstanding performance from the amazing temps that are currently working for us.
Our November Temp of the Month award goes to Brit Abbott who is working at Police Credit Union. Brit has been so well liked that both his assignments have been extended. Britt has received consistently excellent feedback, he’s reliable, friendly, learns fast and nothing is too much trouble. Brit receives a $100 voucher of his choice. Well done Brit.
Kathryn Young, our Banking & Finance Consultant, is pictured here presenting Brit with his certificate.

Resigning from your job? Leave on a good note!
Making the decision to leave your job is hard enough, let alone finding a new position to go to, but do remember to make your resignation as graceful as possible – it’s in your best interest. You shouldn’t burn your bridges, especially in business because you never know when paths may cross again. You will also need references so it’s important to keep them sweet.
Follow these tips to make your exit as smooth as possible:
-
If you are leaving to take a new position, make sure your new job is confirmed in writing before leaving, and make sure you have checked the contract thoroughly.
-
Tell your boss you are resigning before you tell your workmates – it won’t go down well if your boss hears on the grapevine.
-
It is much more polite to tell your boss in person, face to face, not over the phone and not by leaving a letter on their desk. You can follow up your resignation in writing after you have met with your boss.
-
Be clear in yourself as to why you are leaving and let your employer know the reasons.
-
Make sure they know that you want to leave on the best possible terms, giving them the right notice period and assisting in handing over to your replacement.
-
Ask your boss if they will be happy to provide a written reference, not all companies do but if you can get one, it is useful to have. Also ask if they are happy to be listed as a referee on future job applications.
-
It’s an absolute no no to try to leave a job without working your correct notice period, even if your new employer has suggested you do so. They will have more respect for you, if you show respect for your current employer.
-
Keep in touch with the people you’ve worked for, including your boss. Never underestimate the value of a good network.
-
Be seen to make every possible attempt to leave the workplace in the best possible condition — try to improve your performance before you leave rather than let it slip. Your boss will remember the last few weeks you were there when writing your references.
-
Finally, write a letter of resignation – this can be simple but should include:
Your intention of resigning from your current position
A thank you to your employer
Your notice period
Your last day of work
Melbourne Cup
The Beaumont team enjoyed the frivolity of the Melbourne Cup recently with a trip to the Randwick races. There was a great deal of simulated whipping and shouting when the big race arrived and a few of us displayed an eye for picking a winner.
Pictured are Debbie, our Office Manager, Leanne Wells our Life Insurance and Superannuation Consultant and Kathryn Young, Senior Banking & Finance Consultant. What a fine selection of glamorous fillies ….Neigh!
Joke of the Month
The manager of a large office noticed a new employee one day and told him to come into his office. "What's your name?" he asked the new guy.
"John," the new guy replied.
The manager scowled, "Look... I don't know what kind of a namby-pamby place you worked at before, but I don't call anyone by their first name. It breeds familiarity and that leads to a breakdown in authority. I refer to my employees by their last name only ... Smith, Jones, Baker ... That's all. I am to be referred to only as Mr. Robertson. Now that we got that straight, what is your last name?"
The new guy sighed, "Darling. My name is John Darling."
"Okay John, the next thing I want to tell you is . . . "
Proud as punch!
Fame at last for our Senior Banking & Finance Consultant Kathryn Young.
Kathryn was selected out of literally thousands of Recruitments Consultants Australia wide to speak to over 200 of her peers at the RCSA breakfast last week. As one of the most successful and well respected recruitment consultants Kathryn was asked to talk about what makes a successful Consultant and what the future holds for our industry.
Well done Kath, what an accolade to be asked to speak to the recruitment industry, we are all very proud of you.
