New addition to the Banking and Finance Division
The Banking and Finance Division continues to expand with the appointment of Cara Stillman who joins us from one of the big legal firms in the city. With over 6 years of recruiting experience, Cara will be focusing on developing Office Support services within our Banking and Finance division, specialising in both temporary and permanent recruitment.
Customer Contact World a Huge Success
Beaumont Consulting exhibited at the recent Customer Contact World conference, held at the Convention Centre in Darling Habour. The conference is aimed at those employed in Customer Service / Contact Centre industries and presents new strategies and technologies designed to improve customer interaction, efficiency and quality. As a recruitment supplier of Contact Centre professionals, we learned a lot over the two days, and found it a great way to keep abreast of developments within the industry.
Temp of the month
We appreciate and acknowledge outstanding performance from the amazing temps that are currently working for us.
Our March Temp of the Month award goes to Stephen Merrigan. Stephen has temped for both Australian National Credit Union and ING Bank with exceptional feedback. He is reliable, hardworking, always upbeat, learns fast and is happy to go the extra mile! What clinched it for him this month was turning up for work the morning after slicing his right index finger with 4 stitches. As it was a new assignment he didn't want to make a bad impression. And it was a data entry role!! What an absolute trooper!! Way to go Stephen!!

Is your glass half full or half empty?
And does it really make a difference?
The exciting new field of Positive Psychology indicates that it does.
Positive Psychology is the study of strengths and virtues. It challenges traditional problem-based interventions and seeks to build what is right, rather than fix what is wrong.
In the workplace, Positive Psychology focuses on enhancing performance through the identification and development of positive attributes and strengths, at an individual and organisational level.
Come along to our complimentary presentation with Assessment Edge on Wednesday 13th April (5.30 – 7pm) to learn what Positive Psychology can offer your work place. To register your interest email Debbie Jenkins our Office Manager.
10 Tips for preparing to interview
As professional recruiters, we would like to share with you a few top tips to consider when recruiting.
-
Before you start recruiting, make sure you know exactly what you’re looking for. More time spent developing a thorough specification of the role and the person means less time and money wasted making a poor hiring decision. Then call Beaumont Consulting!
-
Develop interview questions tailored to the role and ask all candidates the same questions.
-
Involve other people in the hiring and decision making process, such as the people they will have the most contact with.
-
Decide where you’ll conduct the interviews, book the room and make sure it’s clean and tidy before your candidate arrives.
-
Be prepared before your candidate arrives, don’t leave them waiting, greet them warmly and make them feel at ease.
-
Offer a glass of water; after all they’ll be doing most of the talking which is pretty thirsty work.
-
First impressions count, interview in a professional way, be engaging and enthusiastic in your interview. Recruiting is a two way process, they are assessing you too!
-
The interview is a toll to determine if the candidate is the right fit, not to catch them out! It should be a positive experience. Make the candidate feel comfortable and relaxed and you’ll see more of the real person than putting them under unnecessary pressure.
-
In a competitive market for talent – it is important to sell your company and the role to the candidate just as much as it is to assess their suitability.
-
Move fast on good candidates, if you don’t your competitors will.
These Top Ten tips are now free pdf files available through our website. Please forward them to your colleagues or hiring managers who may benefit from them. We can also provide them in laminated form for you to hand out to your hiring mangers – just call us if you’d like some.

Quote of the Month
This months quote came from one of our clients, who clearly lives by this theory….. (you know who you are Anne!)
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!"
Have a Happy Easter!
