WELCOME TO OUR NEWSLETTER

Welcome to our Newbies!
We have recently appointed several new staff members who will be commencing over the next couple of months.  A big welcome goes to:

Joe Hendry – Property & Construction – CBD Branch
Karen Thorley – Temporary Services - CBD Branch
Julie Cowap – Accounting – North Shore Branch

We are also delighted to announce that Georgia Browning has returned to her position as Temporary Services Consultant in our North Shore Branch following the birth of her first child. Georgia can be reached on 9413 1311 or email her at Georgia.browning@beaumontconsulting.com.au.

Candidate Supply!
With the increase in our candidate and client base, and to ensure we meet their needs, employing new staff for us is both positive and exciting.  The future is looking very bright so we welcome the new financial year with open arms.

Something we need to alert our Clients to is the on-going issue of candidate shortages.  Although we have seen some fluctuations in the share market, it was great to see employment has now increased to more than 11 million and the unemployment rate has reduced to 5.2%.  With generally a more positive attitude towards the future, good candidates are going to be in even shorter supply than they are now.  If you are looking to expand your business, we suggest you don’t leave it too long to find the right people.

At Beaumont we cannot emphasise enough the importance of making quick decisions on your hires.  On several occasions some of our Clients have been disappointed to finc their offers of employment have been made too late.  As we recruit all day, every day, your Consultant is fully qualified to guide Candidates and Clients in setting realistic expectations.

Vinnies CEO Sleepout!
Something we are all very proud of is our CEO’s participation in the
 Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
This is the second year Nikki has found her cardboard carton and slipped into her sleeping bag to try and experience the plight many of our homeless people have to cope with every day.  Nikki is so committed to this cause, this year she was on the organizing committee where they took the “Sleepout” national.  Well done Nikki!  Together the CEO’s generated a huge $2 Million that will go towards providing some relief for those men, women and children who don’t have a home.  We would also like to say a very big THANK YOU, to those Candidates and Clients who gave a donation.  We couldn’t have done it without your help.

Have a great month everyone!
The Beaumont Team

exercise

EXERCISE TO HELP YOUR JOB SEARCH

Exercise may not solve all problems but incorporating it into the job search routine may yield surprising results.

Here's a now-proven fact job seekers should know: Exercise does increase energy. A 2008 study conducted by University of Georgia researchers and published in the journal "Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics" showed that study participants who routinely had complained of fatigue felt an energy increase after a six-week exercise program.

This is good news for jobseekers because more energy - and the other benefits of exercise, such as improved sleep and health - can translate into better productivity. Exercising is ideally suited for the unemployed because "It provides routine in a routine-less world," says Gregory Florez, spokesperson for the American Council on Exercise and CEO of FitAdvisor.com says. It also relieves stress, which is important. "The unemployed are often under more duress than people with jobs," Florez says.

Starting an exercise routine can help jobseekers kick-start job searching into higher gear because they'll feel better physically and mentally.

Jobseekers "Generally face rejection and disappointment every day," Florez says. "Exercise enhances self-esteem." A better attitude will also help when it comes time for interviews. "They'll come across as stronger and more vital," he says. "If you look good and fit, that can be one of those factors that tilts a job your way."

ST JOHNS

Our First Board Member!
Congratulations also needs to go to our relief North Shore Branch Manager Rhonda Dunn who has been appointed to the St John Ambulance (NSW) Board.  St John as you may know is a charitable organisation dedicated to helping people in sickness, distress, suffering or danger.  They are Australia’s largest first aid training provider to business, industry and the community.

One of St John’s goals is to have one person in every household trained in First Aid.  After attending the St John Bravery Awards recently, Rhonda was overwhelmed with those individuals who stood up to explain how their lives were saved directly as a result of a person on the street who had completed First Aid Training.

Are you trained in First Aid?  If not, maybe you and your friends/colleagues would like to be?  For more information, go to www.stjohnnsw.com.au
