A good deed indeed
Tara, our wonderful North Shore Branch Manager has recently decided to join an organised trek with the Child Welfare Scheme (UK based charity). The trek is for 20 days in November and will be a very challenging climb to Everest Base Camp in Nepal! She will be trading in her well-earned days of holiday for basic accommodation, altitude sickness, freezing temperatures and long-drop toilets!!
Tara will be raising money for CWS's projects in Nepal so if you would like to support Tara in her quest you can make any donations at: http://www.justgiving.com/tara-t
We are also selling beautiful handmade earrings, made by our very own MD, Nikki Beaumont, with all profits supporting Tara's Trek. If you are interested, we have a beautiful display in our reception, so pop in and have a look, they are $10 each, so good value for a good charity!

Career Mums welcome Child Care Rebate
CareerMums has welcomed the government’s decision of the child care incentives released in the 2008 Budget. Kate Sykes of CareerMums has said “Workplace flexibility and cost of child care prove to be a continual barrier in parents returning to work sooner. With a national skills shortage, women accounting for nearly half of the workforce, and child care costs rising by more than 12% per year, the spotlight on the cost of childcare is long overdue”.
CareerMums has said that many mothers who wish to return to work after having their second child find it financially impossible with double child care costs. According to Sykes a national paid maternity leave, is next on the agenda. e
