December 07 Newsletter

A message from our Temp Team!

It's been a very busy November for us and it looks like it's going to continue being busy into December, which is great news.  A big welcome to all of our new Temps - we hope to keep you busy through the festive season!  We have put together a little survival guide to make sure you get the most of temping this season:

Availability:  If you're available, let us know and keep in touch.

Contact:  Keep your phone close to you at all times, check your messages and call back ASAP - temp jobs move very quickly.

Short term jobs:  You may be looking for something long term but it's worth considering those 1 day - 1 week assignments at this time of the year as most companies are not committing to long contracts over the Christmas period.

Sickness / Time off:  Everyone gets sick from time to time and if you're really ill, then of course you need to stay at home.  Just be aware that a lot of people take "sickies" at this time of the year and so employers are pretty sceptical ..... especially if it's a Monday morning!  If you are unable to work due to illness, just put a call through as early as you can.  If you don't have your consultant's mobile number, ask for it today.

Don't be a stranger!  If you have been travelling or working elsewhere and are going to be looking again, give us a call, we'd love to hear from you!

Enjoy Yourself!  Temping is a great way of getting new experience, enhancing your resume, earning money and making new friends.  If you're not enjoying yourself or if there's something you need, let us know!  You are our number 1 priority so we will do everything we can to make sure you are content and satisfied in your role.

Payroll Deadlines:
Christmas Eve, Monday 24th December:   Your timesheet will need to be ready to process at 9 am.  We suggest you send your timesheet on Friday when you finish work.  Payroll will then be processed on Monday, which will mean you will have your funds available on Thursday 28th December.
New Years Eve, Monday 30th December:  Your timesheet will also need to be ready to process by 9am, for you pay to be in your account for Thursday 2nd January.

We want to get you paid on time during the holidays, so we will be working hard getting payroll through in one day!  Unfortunately, this means timesheets received after 9am will not be processed until the following week.

Beaumont will be open all through Christmas except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day so if you're available for temp work over Christmas just let us know and we'll try to get you something.  We wish you a very happy, safe and fun Christmas!

Charity Begins at Home (Well also at Work in our case!)

You may recall our MD Nikki Beaumont has been on maternity leave for the past 5 months but instead of just putting her so called ‘feet up’ enjoying her baby, she has been hard at work fundraising once again.

Working her little fingers to the bone making a range of beautiful jewellery (yes she is multi talented), she held a second fundraiser for the Intensive Care Unit of Adelaide Hospital now raising over $ 7,500 for vital equipment.  As if that wasn’t enough, she also had a jewellery display at a major RCSA event (our Recruitment Industry Association) where, along with a range of other generous donors they raised over $36,000 for the Down Syndrome Association.

Finally, to top off a very busy year, Nikki had another jewellery party at her home last weekend to raise more money, along with Beaumont Consulting’s annual charity donation, for the Magic Moments Association “Basket Brigade” (http://www.magicmoments.org.au/).

You guessed it, we are very proud of our Nikki, she is truly a kind and generous soul.  If you want to see any of Nikki's jewellery range, just email her for details nikki.beaumont@beaumontconsulting.com.au.

Book Review – Wild Lavender, Belinda Alexandra

If you are looking for something to read on the beach this summer, you can’t go past this talented Australian author’s 2nd novel, Wild Lavender.

This novel is an historical epic, full of passion and courage! Fans of Paulina Simmons will love Belinda Alexandra’s writing.

Wild Lavender begins when Simone Fleurier is 14 years old and is torn away from her comfortable, happy life in Provencal France after her father dies. Simone is sent to work as a domestic servant in her aunt’s boarding house in Marseilles; there she first meets the beautiful Camille Casal, one of her aunt’s borders. By following Camille one day Simone discovers the Music Hall life, she starts to dream of becoming a famous Music Hall star and her dream takes her to the glitz and glamour of Paris.

However years later after battling for her dream and surviving heartache Simone watches Nazi troops occupy Paris and suddenly her world is turned upside down and she must make new and dangerous choices.

This novel is full of love, heartache and betrayal, I truly felt pulled in and didn’t want to let go, if you pick it up you will struggle to put it down!
