January Temp of the Month
We appreciate and acknowledge outstanding performance from the amazing temps that are currently working for us.
Our January Temp of the Month award goes to Phil Illingworth who is currently working at iLeo. Phil has been excellent, and the feedback from both clients he has worked for, has been exemplary. He hasn't taken a day off, has a great attitude as has proved to be adaptable and willing to do other duties outside the assignment. Phil receives a $100 voucher of his choice. Well done Phil.
Neil Hanson, our Call Centre Consultant, is pictured here presenting Phil with his certificate.
Introducing Fiona and Selwyn
We have doubled in size since this time last year and January saw two new superstar consultants join the Beaumont Team. Fiona De Stefanis joins us as our new Office Support / Call Centre consultant and Selwyn Smith joins the Financial Services team. Have a look on The Team to find out more about Fiona and Selwyn, as well as the rest of the team, as I’m sure some of you will be speaking to them soon.
10 Tips for Preparing for your Interview
January is typically the time of year when people start to re-assess their lives. It’s a very popular month to reconsider your career and many of you will be getting ready to start the process of finding new employment. Consider these tips when preparing for your interviews:
1. Read the job description thoroughly and prepare a list of questions to ask about the role at interview.
2. Note the key skills and abilities the company is looking for. Think about what experience and qualities you have that you can demonstrate at interview.
3. Consider what questions may be asked and prepare some answers. Many interviewers will use behavioral interviewing techniques so prepare to discuss some real life examples of what you have achieved in your previous roles.
4. Research the company by reading through their website, or by searching the internet for related articles.
5. Ask your friends and colleagues what they know about the company, especially anyone who has worked there previously.
6. Ask your consultant about the company. What previous experience have they had with that company and what can you expect in the interview.
7. Take quality copies of your resume, written references, skill test results, qualifications and certificates in a clean professional folder. Also take some blank paper so you can take notes.
8. Know where the company is located and plan how you will get there, making sure you allow plenty of time.
9. Remember that first impressions count, what are you planning on wearing? Do you look the part?
10. Finally be confident, be yourself, and don’t forget your winning smile.
Joke of the Month
Reaching the end of a job interview, the Human Resources Person asked the young MBA fresh out of MIT, "And what starting salary were you looking for?"
The candidate said, "In the region of $125,000 a year, depending on the benefits package."
The HR Person said, "Well, what would you say to a package of 5-weeks holiday, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary, and a company car leased every 2 years - say, a red Porsche?"
The Engineer sat up straight and said, "Wow!!! Are you kidding?"
And the HR Person said, "Certainly ...but you started it."
