Beaumont News Round Up from Emily Wheeldon, CBD Branch Manager

January was an exciting month at Beaumont Consulting, we had three members of staff who left us to begin their maternity leave Sian Keegan, Angelina McMenamin and Debbie Jenkins . So far we have had two new arrivals, both Sian and Debbie have given birth to baby boys and Angelina is due anytime in the next couple of weeks, also expecting a boy.

Business has been picking up fast since we all returned from the Christmas break. The number of live vacancies have tripled in the last few weeks and in particular our IT Division has an abundance of opportunities which is fantastic for such a new division. Other exciting news is the launch of our newest division, Property & Construction.

This new division has been kick started by myself and Rachael Burling who has come from a Property Consulting background. We have already made some great contacts within the industry and are working on a number of live vacancies in Property Management and Facilities which is a fantastic start!

We have some new faces at Beaumont Consulting who have joined the business in the last few weeks. Katie Newell is our new, fabulous Receptionist who you will no doubt have the pleasure of speaking with when you call into the city office. Justine McKnight has joined us with over 3.5 years experience in Accounting & Finance Recruitment. Stacey Lang has joined the team and is breaking into a new territory for the business in South Sydney with a view to opening up our third branch in mid 2010.

We have also had another new starter, Ann Kingston who will be based in our Chatswood office and working within the IT Division specialising in Software Development and Business Intelligence along side Julian Fellows.

The office re-furb’s are well under way in both our Chatswood and City branches. We have confirmed that we will be taking over further office space in the city adjacent to our existing office which means we can create a further 12 positions within the business as well as a fantastic new thirty seater board room which will enable us to provide more client training on site later in 2010.

We wish you all a successful fruitful and rewarding February 2010.

Regards
Emily

seminar

Beaumont's Season of Complimentary Client Seminar and Training Sessions Continues

At a time in history when we can pretty much do and be anything we like - what's the main thing holding us back?

For most people it's self doubt and fear.

Self doubt and fear are the most common reasons people don't realise their full potential and achieve their dreams.

Beaumont Consulting is pleased to present an inspirational antidote to these limiting emotions.

Come and hear someone who had a dream so big and scary, that for most of us, it would simply be unthinkable.

As a middle-aged, regular working mother with no background in adventure, Heather Swan wanted to climb and fly off the highest cliff in the world, a treacherous 6672 metre Himalayan mountain! But with no experience in adventure, no athletic background and a healthy fear of heights the odds were severely stacked against her. Heather's dream should have remained an unattainable fantasy but amazingly, after six years of hard work, dogged persistence and by following a formula to understand and overcome fear, she finally got to make her world breaking flight.

Together with her husband, professional adventurer and medical doctor, Dr. Glenn Singleman, Heather now holds a number of World Records and is recognised as the most accomplished female wingsuit pilot in the world. She is the author of the inspirational and entertaining book 'No Ceiling' and has become a highly sort after inspirational speaker.

The team at Beaumont Consulting has followed Heather's journey for many years, and we are thrilled to offer our clients this opportunity to hear her inspirational story.

This event is taking place on the following two dates to cope with demand.

When:  Tuesday 16th February, City

            Wednesday 24th February, Chatswood

Diary of a Registering Temporary Worker

The Beaumont Registration Process:

Our approach is to provide a more personal service, to build strong relationships and develop an understanding of our candidate's experience, needs, interests and career objectives.

The registration process at Beaumont Consulting is both easy and thorough.  This week we have met a fantastic candidate and recorded her experience of the registration process…….

Preparation:

To ensure that we place candidates in the most appropriate work, we need to obtain as much relevant information as possible.  Therefore a clear and up to date resume is essential.  This and the registration process will helps us to understand their preferences, skills and past experiences. All are essential details which help us match the right people to your open positions.

Step 1 - Arranging An Appointment

Initially a Temporary or Permanent Services Consultant will discuss the candidates requirements and availability. If they are confident in the candidate's inital ability they will arrange an appointment in our offices register to assess the candidate's skills further.

 Step 2 - Initial Registration

During their appointment with Beaumont Consulting the candidate will be asked to complete registration forms.  These are a mixture of their personal details, bank and tax details, our employment agreement and OH&S guidance.

Each candidate will need to present one of the following forms of identification when registering with Beaumont Consulting:

·       A current Australian passport, or

·       An Australian birth certificate and photo ID, or

·       A current passport with relevant work visa

Why do we ask for this information?

We are obligated as an Employment Agency under the Migration Act 1958 to confirm that all candidates we register have the right to work in Australia.   We do not discriminate and ask that all candidates who register, including Australian Citizens, bring in the relevant form of ID.

 Step 3 - Assessing The Candidate's Skills

Candidates are asked to undertake some skills assessments which will make sure we have a better understanding of their capabilities.  These assessments will be in line with their experience and the type of work that they are looking for.  We will then be able to share this information with you to help you when selecting the right candidate.

Step 4 - Interviewing With Beaumont

Once all the forms and assessments are completed the consultant then interviews the candidate.  The interview is designed to be relaxed and an opportunity to understand their experiences, the type of work that they are looking for and the types of companies that they wish to work within.  We need to understand their strengths and any areas of development.

During the interview the consultant will give the candidate advice and guidance on their resume, the types of work that Beaumont Consulting currently have available and current market trends.  Most importantly, they will be given advice on what to expect from us, and the best way to manage the relationship with their consultant.

Step 5 - Our Relationship With The Candidate

The Beaumont Consultant will keep in touch with the candidate and notify them as soon as suitable opportunities arise.  As specialists in our field we combine our experience and knowledge of the market place and our pro-active approach with our candidates ensures that we have a continuous pool of skilled, interviewed candidates ready to fill those last minute temporary position.

We are proud of the service we give to clients and candidates, and hope this introduction gives you an insight into our commitment to achieving consistently high standards in each and every one of our recruitment assignments.

Our Not For Profit Department got more than they bargained for at a recent meeting with the Director of Cancer Charity, Can Too......

Janine Runaghan from our Not For Profit team recently met the Director of Can Too, part of the Cure Cancer Australia Foundation and felt inspired to do something for this brilliant charity. She has now signed up to run the half marathon at Blackmores Sydney Running Festival (21 km) as well as roping in an additional two members of the Beaumont Team for the event!

By Janine's own admission she estimates that she can jog no more than about 500m non-stop without keeling over, possibly less, and those who know her well know that she HATES running!! However, this is a brilliant cause and we are all very much behind her.

Temp of the month

We are pleased to confirm that Doug Hoy has won this month’s temp of the month competition.  Doug has been working hard for us in one of our contact centre assignments since October 2009. He has worked with one of our clients during their busiest times and this is what they had to say about him;

“Doug has made some improvements recently in meeting both his KPI’s and general job performance.  His attendance and attitude has been excellent and his overall job performance has been great!”

Well done Doug, we are pleased to have you as part of the Beaumont team. Thanks for all your hard work!
