A year in the life of Beaumont Consulting… 2005
We thought the end of the year might be a good time to share some of the things we’ve been up to this year… we’ve had a really exciting year, this has been our fourth year in business and so much good stuff has happened. We’re happy!
January – Kathryn Young one of our more Senior Banking and Finance Consultants was promoted to Manager of the Finance and Banking Division after 2 and half very successful years with us. Throughout this year Kathryn and her team have grown the division and developed some excellent relationships with existing and new clients. It’s all good!
February – Tara Robinson was promoted to Branch Manager of the soon to be opened Chatswood office. Tara had over 2 years with Beaumont as a Senior Consultant specialising in Office Support and General Insurance. Tara developed her North Shore clients from the city office initially, took on her first Consultant Anita in July and opened the Chatswood office in September which we are pleased to say is doing brilliantly.
March – We teamed up with Assessment Edge to provide one to one management coaching for our Senior Management Team. We are very committed to providing continual training and development for all staff at all levels and this additional support has made a real difference. Our business coach helped us all be so much more focused, brought in new ideas and incredibly enabled us to fit even more in to our already busy days.
April - We got so big we out grew our old Pitt Street office and moved in to our beautiful new offices in Margaret Street. It was a big empty space when we leased it, with the help of Designate our architect, we transformed it to a fantastic working environment with 6 interview rooms and space to expand the team to 20 consultants.
May – our MD Nikki Beaumont left us for a month and zoomed off on a big trip to Peru, trekking through the Cordillera Blanca high up in the Peruvian Andes. The purpose of the trip was to support a project team delivering solar lights to some of the remotest (darkest) villages in Peru along with school supplies and clothing for the children.
June – More team bonding… we celebrated a successful first half year with a trip to Paddington Lawn Bowls. Who would have guessed lawn bowls could be so much fun, excuse me for thinking lawn bowls was for crinkly retirees… no way, we had the best time, we were all pretty useless actually but we could highly recommend it for any event. Excellent!
July – Leanne Wells our fabulous Irish Life Insurance and Superannuation Consultant jetted off to Thailand on holiday and came back as Leanne Ferguson with considerably more diamonds and gold on her left hand…. This is the first wedding we’ve had in the company and we all wished we could have been there! We also recruited Anita Tarlao to join our Chatswood team, Anita joined us with 4 years experience in recruitment and has been a fabulous addition to the Chatswood possy.
August – Sian Keegan and Vivian Ventura joined the Office Support Division. Sian joined as Manager for the Office Support Division, just arrived from the UK with 8 years of recruitment experience behind her. Vivian joined as a Consultant with 4 years experience in Recruitment, what an amazing team they make, two bright and shining stars, we’re lucky to have them with us.
September – We appointed our first Candidate Care Manager Kristy McKintosh to help us source and manage our candidates. Kristy's role has been to provide support to candidates and ensure their application with us is maximised across the whole team. We also opened the Chatswood office which was a very exciting time for us. Our first branch office… we drank champagne and I cried! (MD)
October - Felicity our Receptionist for the last 2 years flew the nest to go travelling, first stop Las Vegas… This created an opportunity for us to take on Blake Mason, our man of the moment, the voice and face of Beaumont, and what a funky little fruit bat he is, welcome aboard Blakos.
November – We all trotted of to Randwick for a day of team building and bonding for Melbourne Cup. You can see a photo of some of the fabulous fillies in the November newsletter, a fabulous time was had by all.
December – Christmas party time… we really went all out this year and did a Treasure Hunt around The Rocks and the harbour, finishing it off nicely with a barbeque on Shark Island. Gourmet Greg did the catering and we can highly recommend him for any function, he was amazing, you can get Gregs details through Kath our Banking and Finance Manager.
So you see we’ve had a great year here at Beaumont Consulting and we look forward to an even more successful and exciting year in 2006.

A nice historical story of Christmas!
When four of Santa's elves got sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones, Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.
Then Mrs Claus told Santa that her Mom was coming to visit.
This stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where.
More stress.
Then when he began to load the sleigh one of the boards cracked, and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys.
So, frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum.
When he went to the cupboard he discovered that the elves had hidden the liquor, and there was nothing to drink.
In his frustration he accidentally dropped the cider pot, and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor.
He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw end of the broom.
Just then the doorbell rang, and irritable Santa trudged to the door.
He opened the door and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.
The angel said very cheerfully, "Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't it a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?"
And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.............!
Quote of the month
“Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one”
John Lennon
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all at Beaumont…
