This high profile appointment for a General Manager Australia is a unique opportunity for an experienced senior business professional to develop and drive Australian business operations of this manufacturer and worldwide supplier of superior medical products and devices. Reporting to and supported by the regional Vice President situated in Singapore you will be charged with developing, implementing and driving the organisation’s capabilities from start-up, through strategic development of integrated business, finance and sales/marketing operations and quickly growing your team to capitalise on the organisation’s existing reputation in the Australian market. With a focus initially on diagnostics products in the field of Diabetes management it is expected that the successful candidate will have Diabetes related product awareness including BGM systems and knowledge of the requirements of the NDSS and PBS or an ability to quickly understand these. It is also expected that you will have demonstrated management experience within the Pharmaceutical industry.

 

Major responsibility and result areas will include:

 

Business Strategy

Develop, advise on and implement business strategies to provide effective direction to grow the business within Australia  .

Monitor strategic plan and address issues/concerns.

Demonstrate an understanding of business requirements, dynamics and processes and translate this into operational initiatives.

Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities to deliver innovations and efficiency and prepare proposals and business cases as required.

Develop, maintain and communicate policy and procedures

Sales and Marketing

Identify, develop and target the product market

Develop and monitor sales targets and report on performance against targets

Translate business objectives and strategies to prepare brand portfolio objectives, plans and strategies to facilitate the business growth.

Identify new product and marketing opportunities.

Identify and implement promotional opportunities for company products

Employee Management

Drives the operations of the business, ensuring the relevant requirements of the strategic plan are achieved and that all requirements of the business plan are achieved.

Build and manage sales and support team

Ensure employee’s motivation, performance, training and communication are managed effectively.

Ensure staffing requirements to meet current operational needs and longer-term needs in accordance with the organisation’s strategic plan.

Relationship Management

Builds trust through consistent actions, values and communication

Ensures an effective relationship is developed and maintained with the organisation’s Executive Management

Communicates effectively throughout the organisation ensuring information sharing and awareness.

Ensures productive external relationships with organisations and key stakeholders are formed and maintained that can support the organisation’s strategic direction.

 

The position of General Manager Australia is afforded wide latitude of personal and procedural independence and freedom and is responsible for any decisions that will directly impact the operations of the business at large, staff, stakeholders and clients.
